Special Operations Program Manager/Site Lead

The Opportunity: 

Motive International (www.motiveinternational.com), a Washington, DC-based social enterprise with a mission to mitigate global conflict and instability is seeking to fill an immediate leadership position in our fast-growing organization. You'd serve as a Site Lead/Program Manager for client engagements, leading strategy, people, and activities in domestic and international settings. You'd also be a core member of Motive's HQ team, managing programs and supporting business development initiatives that allow us to continue growing and advancing our mission.

We're open to a full or part-time hire -- but will prioritize candidates enthusiastically seeking to commit to a long-term position within our organization. Position can be remote, D.C. or N.C. based, with the expectation of travel approximately 30% of the time. Required  Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of experience in U.S. Special Operations
  • Strong track record leading teams and a desire to continue leading and managing people
  • Comfortable with fast-paced work culture and ability to thrive in low-structure environments
  • Willingness/availability to travel (including overseas) for up to 6 weeks at a time at least quarterly
  • Ability to work outdoors for up to 10 hours a day, sometimes in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to walk 5 or more miles over rough terrain carrying a load of 50lbs
  • Exceptional writing and critical thinking skills
  • Active SECRET or higher security clearance
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Prior military experience at O-4/E-6 level or higher
  • Experience and comfort using Microsoft Teams and Office suite and ability to quickly learn new software 

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Instructor experience
  • Knowledge of a second language
  • Exercise planning or scripting experience
  • Familiarity with government contracting and experience or desire to support business development in the federal marketplace
